Dr. Fred Weiner
The word chiropractor is derived from the Greek cheir, which means "hand;"
most of us realize that chiropractic is a hands-on profession. In my practice, I
use tools in addition to the familiar chiropractic adjustments; the purpose of
any of the forms of treatment is to remind the body of it’s in-born health and
balance, which it partially forgets because of trauma. The body knows how to
function quite well on its own, as long as it is given what it needs, such as
quality food and water, air, love and light. Our job is to help it to align itself with
those factors in the most efficient way.
As Applied Kinesiologists, we see the systems of the body as fully interconnected.
We use muscle testing to ask questions of the body’s information
network. Muscle testing informs us in the body’s own language. With muscle
testing, we can get information about the organs. Muscle testing reveals
information related to the acupuncture circuits. It reveals factors related to
nutritional status. It can tell us a great deal about structural integrity, a powerful
guide to knowing where and when to make adjustments. Emotion leaves it’s
informational signature in the body; muscle testing can tap that flow for clues
to the patterns of impaired function related to emotion. Muscle testing guides
the practitioner where to put his or her hands, and provides clues as to what
treatments to use effectively.
The Applied Kinesiology system diagnoses functional illness: why things just
don’t feel right or work well, rather than solely focusing on disease classification
and nomenclature, followed by treatments linked to a named condition. For
thirty years of practice, I have observed that we are each unique, and the
problems that arise for us are not the same as anyone else’s: no two people with
lumbar strain, or headache, or irritable bowel, for example, have the same
thing. It does not necessarily help to give the back pain a name and then treat
the named condition in the same way as treating the next person with the same
named condition. Chiropractors who utilize Applied Kinesiology have the tools
to find out what’s wrong with the individual and to supply measures that help
that individual move in the direction of health and balance.
I frequently counsel patients on nutrition, and "practice what I
preach" about it. I have years of experience using herbal remedies
and Flower Essences (a subtle form of plant medicine), and a wide
variety of naturally based food supplements. So many of our conditions
are related to, or even caused by, poor nutritional habits, and I
enjoy discussing these issues with patients.
I’m usually told that I’m fun to work with, or at least interesting! I
know how to listen. I know that I don’t know everything and know
how to refer to other skilled professionals for assistance; there are
several of those right here at the Swan Clinic. I attempt to persuade
my patients to follow my instructions, without ignoring the
important fact that we all have a rigt to our own choices. I don’t
guarantee results (health workers can’t really do that), but I will try
my best to help you at all times we are together.
May I take this opportunity to invite you into my practice? Call for a
schedule of fees, or with other questions about my practice. We are
blessed with a highly capable staff; give them a chance and they will
communicate with precision.
I’m looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible!
